How UNAPENDWA Children's Home is run and how donations are used.
Last updated: March 2026
We believe trust is earned through openness. This page summarises how the home is organised, how funds are handled, and how you can request further information.
How the home is run
- UNAPENDWA Children's Home is a community-based children's home in Kampala, Uganda
- Daily care is led by our matron and a small team of carers and volunteers
- Decisions about spending prioritise food, health, education and safety
- Volunteers and partners are vetted before working with children
How donations are used
- Every online donation is recorded with a payment reference from the provider
- Mobile money donations arrive through our merchant account (PawaPay), other payment options through the hosted PawaPay checkout
- Funds are allocated to children's needs first: meals, school fees, medical care, shelter
- Administrative costs are kept minimal — the majority of gifts reach programmes directly
